Visiting CV Sinar Baja Electric, the parent company behind globally respected brands SB Acoustics and SB Audience, was truly an inspiring and unforgettable experience for me as an audio enthusiast, speaker designer, and manufacturer.
Founded in 1981 by Mr. Hendro Sunjotto, the company has grown into one of the world’s most advanced loudspeaker component manufacturing groups, supplying drivers and components to many leading audio brands across the globe. During my visit, I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Hendro Sunjotto himself, whose passion, vision, and decades of dedication have built an incredible manufacturing ecosystem for the audio industry.
I also had the opportunity to meet his daughter, Ms. Elly, Managing Director of SB Factory 1, where SB Acoustics drivers and OEM drivers for many international brands are manufactured. It was impressive to see how professionally and efficiently the factory operates while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
What amazed me the most during the visit was the scale of manufacturing and the level of vertical integration they have achieved. Across the factories, every single driver undergoes rigorous testing and precision quality control before reaching customers. The production environment was highly organized, technologically advanced, and focused on consistency and performance.
One of the biggest strengths of the company is its extensive in-house manufacturing capability, which includes:
In-house voice coil manufacturing
Cast aluminum chassis production
Stamped steel basket manufacturing
In-house tool and mold development
Precision driver assembly lines
Advanced testing and QC systems
This level of vertical integration gives them incredible flexibility, consistency, and engineering control over their products.
I also had the chance to experience several speaker demonstrations, and the listening sessions were outstanding. The newly introduced Rima Classic Speaker Kit, inspired by the legendary Gema series, sounded extremely musical and refined. The Sasandu TX impressed me with its exceptional detailing, openness, and surprisingly deep low-frequency performance. The Tifa 6 and Tifa 8 also delivered remarkable sound quality and performance beyond expectations.

Their demo facility itself was very impressive, featuring a large listening room with many speaker kits and upcoming new designs on display. It clearly reflected their deep commitment to acoustic engineering and product development.
Another major highlight of the visit was getting a chance to experience their Rhyme Audio Line Array Speaker System. The performance was truly amazing and completely crossed my expectations. I honestly did not expect such an audiophile-grade Hi-Fi sound quality from a professional line array system. The clarity, detailing, imaging, dynamics, and low-frequency performance were exceptionally impressive, proving how far professional audio systems have evolved when engineered correctly.
During my visit to their second factory, I met:
Mr. Teddy Hermawan – Managing Director
Mr. Aland Christian – Marketing Manager OEM/ODM
Mr. Indra Handoyo – GM, Business Units
This facility focuses on state-of-the-art OEM electronics manufacturing and large-scale speaker cabinet production with extremely precise QC systems and high production capabilities.
Another fascinating part of the visit was learning about their fourth factory, dedicated to manufacturing speaker cones and spiders. They process raw pulp materials into paper cones and suspension components completely in-house, supplying many well-known audio brands worldwide. Seeing the entire process—from raw materials to finished acoustic components—was truly impressive and highlighted the company’s engineering depth and manufacturing excellence.
The entire visit was professionally guided and coordinated by:
Ms. Melly – International Sales & Project Manager
Mr. Mirza – Digital Marketing Head
I sincerely thank them for their warm hospitality, detailed factory tour, technical discussions, and the opportunity to witness such an advanced audio manufacturing ecosystem firsthand.
We also had productive discussions regarding OEM driver development opportunities for Eight Audio, expansion of more SB Acoustics and SB Audience driver models through Audiofy.in, and future growth opportunities in the Indian audio market. The visit also provided valuable insights and knowledge for future Eight Audio factory expansion and manufacturing plans. Overall, the experience delivered tremendous inspiration and practical understanding of large-scale audio manufacturing, quality systems, vertical integration, and global OEM operations.
This visit was not only educational but also deeply motivating for me. Seeing the passion, innovation, engineering precision, and manufacturing capabilities at CV Sinar Baja Electric reinforced my vision of building world-class audio products and contributing to the growth of the Indian audio industry.
